Ying Ping Feng Tang (Jade Windscreen Powder) is a classic Chinese herbal formula designed to strengthen the body’s defensive Qi (Wei Qi) and protect against external pathogens such as wind, cold, and seasonal allergens. It is commonly used for people who tend to catch colds easily, experience spontaneous sweating, or suffer from allergies like hay fever.

Ingredients & Their Actions

Huang Qi (Astragalus Root)
The chief herb of the formula, Huang Qi powerfully tonifies Qi—especially Lung and Spleen Qi—and strengthens the body’s protective (Wei) Qi. It helps stabilise the exterior, reduce spontaneous sweating, and enhance immune resilience.

Bai Zhu (Atractylodes Rhizome)
Bai Zhu supports the Spleen in transforming and transporting fluids, helping to prevent the formation of dampness. It also assists Huang Qi in strengthening Qi and contributes to stabilising the exterior to reduce susceptibility to illness.

Fang Feng (Siler Root)
Fang Feng is the “wind expeller” of the formula. It helps release the exterior and protect the body from invasion by external pathogens. Importantly, it works without overly drying, making it suitable for patients who are deficient rather than excess.
